The story: Sailing on the luxury liner, "The S.S. American", are (1) a gangster on the run posing as a minister, (2) a former evangelist turned nightclub singer traveling with her four tap dancing "Angels", (3) a society miss who is engaged to an English gentleman who is also on board, and (4) her ex-boyfriend who stows away on the ship to try and win her back. A series of comical mistaken identities take place as the passengers and crew sing and dance their way across the Atlantic to songs from the incomparable Cole Porter including "It's De-Lovely"," Friendship", "I Get A Kick Out Of You", "All Through The Night", "You're The Top", and, of course, "Anything Goes".

Byrell Justice, whose LTOB credits include One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Biloxi Blues, and Of Mice and Men, directs an accomplished cast. Music Director Steve Simpkins has assembled an all-star seven piece combo drawn from LTOB's own Little Ole Big Band. The renowned Janice Kendall is the show's Vocal Director. The actors stay light on their feet with Choreography by Kay Pace.

Principle characters are:

  • Reno Sweeny played by Cassie Justice, who has played such characters as Sr. Amnesia in Nunsense II, III, and IV, Kate Jerome in Brighton Beach Memoirs, and Queen Guenevere in Camelot.

  • Billy Crocker played by Alexander Rich, whose stage time includes Leonardo in Much Ado About Nothing, You Can't Take It With You, and Damn Yankees.

  • Hope Hartcourt is played by Amelia Edd who you'll recognize as having been Maria from West Side Story, Lady Larken in Once Upon A Mattress and LTOB's own Little Ole Big Band.

  • Tim Novotny, well known as News Editor for KCBY-TV, who played Slim in Of Mice and Men, Capt. Hook in Peter Pan, and Officer Bill in Lobby Hero, will portray Sir Evelyn Oakleigh, the English gentleman who "just doesn't get it".

  • Moonface Martin is played by Byrell Justice who played Ross Gardiner in Visiting Mr. Green, Uncle Louie in Lost In Yonkers, and George in Of Mice and Men, and

  • Bonnie is done beautifully by Anna Weidemiller, last seen as Jennifer Rumson in Paint Your Wagon and previously as Sarah in Guys and Dolls and Marti in Grease.

Other performers include Doris Smith, Mindy Freeman, Alyssa Birrer, and Camille Deming as Reno's Angels. George Nixon as Elisha J. Whitney, Yvonne Frey as Mrs. Wadsworth T. Hartcourt, James Kemp as The Purser, and Jim Thornton as The Bishop. Altogether there are about 30 people in this wonderfully talented cast.
