Director Neville Cordell has been
involved at LTOB for several years, first appearning in Paint Your
Wagon. He directed and appeared in "The Mikado and, in Bandon, "The Pirates of Penzance",
also playing the Pirate King. It was a very good production, and great things are
expected from "The King and I". production. Neville will also play the role of Sir
Edward Ramsay.
Musical Director Ida Jo Gates has done lots of Musical Productions
before she and husband Rick Rehfeld took over the Oregon Coast School of
Music in North Bend. An accomplished musician and teacher, she also
plays the Pipe Organ for the First United Methodist Church in Coos Bay.
After a long absence,
Pam Dennis returnes to leade the Set Design and Production team. Pam goes way
back at Little Theatre and has much experience as a Director, Actress and
multiple memberships in Production.

Lorna Murphy,
a music Teacher in the Reedsport School District and the Southwestern Community Choir leader. will
turn to another talent, Costume Design. This will be Lorna's first show
at Little Theatre. Josie Reid will assist with the costumes for the
"Uncle Tom's Cabin" ballet portion of the Show. Again, if you would like
to sew costumes or help with accessories, please call the theatre and leave a
message for Lorna.
The "Uncle Tom's Cabin" Ballet will be choreographed by Mary Schroeder
and will be performed by dancers from the Dance Umbrella for South Coast
Oregon.
Herb Yussim. who played the ship's Captain in Anything Goes,
plays the King.
Kerry Oxford will play the part of Anna Leonowens and is the Assistant
Director. Leatha
Gonzales graces our
stage as Lady Thiang, while new-comer Talitha McClary will play Tuptim.
Dick Wagner will play The Kralahome. Dick
and his wife Judy are Long time residents of North Bend and, before
retirement, owned and operated Tipsico Coin Company on Broadway. It will
be so nice to see Dick...again...on the stage.
Captain Orton will be played by new-comer Dan Clark.
Last years' Teen Idol, Clint Guevara will play the part of Lun Tha.
Clint is a Senior at North Bend High School while, his mom, Shelly, will play the part
of one of the Kings wives.
Other Royal Wives will be played by Anne Carter, Lydia Shaffer-Casa,
Theresa Erskine, Melissa Mimer-King, Lacy Koerber, Betty Robertson,
Julianna Seldon, Liz Spona, and Jill Hayner-Thompson.
The Royal Children are all new to LTOB and will be played by McKenzie
Brock, Alyssa Carter, Devon Carter, Cartik King, Riley Kirby, Brianna
Koerber, Sean Koerber, Marissa Marchant, Gavin Medina, Alison Melo,
Dakota Moore, Janey Suppes and Maddy Suppes. The parts of Prince
Chulalongkorn and Louis Leonowens will be played by Chris Seldon and
Rachel Sheldon respectively.
"The King and I" opens Friday, February 6th and runs for
four weekends through Sunday, March 1st. Showtimes are 8 PM,
Fridays and Saturdays, while Sunday Matinees are at 2 PM.
