Howdy!
It’s time to get ready for
Opry 2008. Start thinking about what you want to sing this season and get
those charts and CD’s ready. Opry Auditions will be May 20 and 22 at 7pm at
the theatre. Bring a track to audition with and dress like a performer!
NOTE: OPRY AUDITIONS ARE "OPEN" WHICH MEANS
THAT ANYONE

We’re raising the bar on
costumes. They’ve raised the ticket price to $12.00 from $10.00, since all
the other shows at LTOB are $12.00, so we MUST dress like a million bucks.
We’ll have a “Hot Shirt” contest weekly for the men…including the band, with a
traveling trophy. The Little Ole Opry Dancers will judge. Lauri Todd is
already working with this years dancers.
Jeanne Woods will be our
costume consultant. You must bring your show costume to the Thursday night
rehearsal for approval before each show. NO RIPPED JEANS, T-SHIRTS OR FLIP
FLOPS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SHOW (UNLESS PRE APPROVED BY ME).
Our Band will be; Dave
Ford, Bill Berrian, Dave Andrist, Doug Jones, and Dwain Rayburn, and Dave will
have his lap-top available to copy your track. Please fill out the forms and
send them back to me ASAP, so the band can begin working. If you would like
song suggestions, just ask. (Don’t ask me, ask Dave!)
As your director I want to
thank you for last years show. It was a huge success, and I expect this
season to be even better. I would ask, though, that questions or ideas about
the show, or things related to the show be channeled through me period. I
will act on the idea if it is a good one, and pretend it was mine! Ha ha!
Pam deJong will be
available to help you with movement, and what to do during the time the band
is playing an interlude during your song. We all know, she doesn’t have a
problem with owning the stage! Ron Nance will want to know some info about
you and your selection and will touch base with you during the Thursday
rehearsals. Tom wants you to get the heck out of his way over on Stage Right!
I think we’re going to have a fabulous summer. I look forward to hearing from
you.
Love,
