Enjoy
the raucous camaraderie of miner's in a Gold Rush camp and the music
and goings on of the Old West. This play was revitalized in 1999 on
"Broadway" in New York City. It's fun music and bedraggled characters
inspire us to relive our experiences in the wilderness.
Ben Rumson is a grizzled prospector whose daughter Jennifer finds
gold near their camp. Word of the strike gets around and the town's
population grows tremendously. Jennifer falls in love with Julio,
a Mexican prospector, but goes East to school. When the gold strike
is over, she returns to find her town a ghost town and her loved ones
left with nothing but their hopes and dreams. Featured songs include: "They
Call the Wind Maria", "Whoop-Ti-Ay", and "Can-Can",
which promises to be an exciting dance and song number.
