A celebration of the life of Patricia "Patti" Elizabeth West, 62, of
North Bend, was held Saturday, Oct. 7, at the
Little Theatre on the Bay, 2100 Sherman Ave., in North Bend, with
her friend, Wendy Helling, officiating. Cremation was at Ocean View
Memory Gardens Crematory in Coos Bay.
Patti was born June 27, 1944, in South Gate, Calif., the daughter of
Russell and Marie (Moreno) Johnson. She died Sept. 30, 2006, in Coos
Bay.
She married Gail West on Aug. 10, 1968, in Santa Ana, Calif., and
moved to Coos Bay in 1976 from Southern California. She worked for
Dr. Ray French and, for the past 12 years, at Bay Clinic as an
account manager. Patti was a past president and member of the Little
Theatre on the Bay since 1977. She was a director, actress, producer
and costumer of more than 30 productions, including seven musicals.
A major driving force at LTOB for almost 30 years, Patti's love of
theater was shared with her many longtime friends and family.
Patti's talents and contributions were admired and respected by the
entire Bay Area community.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Gail West of North Bend;
son, Grayson West and wife, Jessie, of Kirkland, Wash.; mother,
Marie Johnson of San Clemente, Calif.; brothers, Raymond Johnson and
wife, Cindy, Russell Johnson and Charles Johnson, all of San
Clemente; brother-in-law, Mark West of Rogue River; nieces, Teal and
Shane Johnson of San Clemente and Cindy Jackson of Greenfield, Ind.;
friends, Keith, Wendy and Elizabeth Helling, Nathan, Lisa, Hayley,
Brooklyn and Kendall Hankwitz, Dave and Cynthia Hankwitz, Gail
Virgili, Lee and Julie Rubenstein, Marianne Greenley, Paula Wenzl,
Betty Bingham, Luanne May, Jill Hanson, Dorthea Yantis, Jason
Denton, Sherry Bingham-Short, Krishna Muirhead, the physicians and
staff at Bay Clinic, Dr. Ray French and staff, Dr. Tom McAndrew,
Susan Ault, FNP; South Coast Hospice; and Bay Area Home Health.
The family suggests memorial contributions, to the benefit of Patti
West, at any branch of Umpqua Bank.
